Andre Sornay square coffee table in oak 1930

This coffee table was designed in the 1930s by the French cabinetmaker André Sornay (signature embossed in the wood, under the top, picture n°12). It is made of solid oak and oak veneer. It presents a grain of wood on its top absolutely magnificent and unique.
The elements of this coffee table were assembled using the "cloutage" system patented by the cabinetmaker. System allowing to assemble on a solid frame using metal point, a thin panel plated with wood essence. Perfect alignment of the nails is the hallmark of the cabinetmaker.
Note: the base is not original, it was previously modified but this with Sornay wood elements.
