Definitely one of the most beautiful pieces of African art presented on Galerie44!
Discover this magnificent tripod armchair from the Jimma region in Ethiopia. It is entirely hand-carved from a single piece of wood and has a unique time patina! Its design is inspired by the traditional East African stool to which is added a high openwork backrest.
These armchairs were used during the enthronement of a new king.
It is a piece of character that will catch the eye of rare object enthusiasts. It will be placed in your interior like a sculpture. We imagine it in a pure and minimalist decoration, to decorate an entrance or a corner of a room.
